Reproduction of a large size format logo in aluminium for the Vancouver olympic games

Request made by : Patinage de vitesse Canada

A project of social and corporative implications achieved by the experts at the CeiAl in the context of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games in Canada.

The speed skating Canada logo was reproduced at a larger scale in order to acknowledge Canadian teams in their quest for victory at the Olympic Games.

This out of the ordinary project was made thanks to an exceptional and generous collaboration of the aluminium industry’s actors forming a complete supply chain going from materials, to design, to casting pieces (CIFM), to welding (Qualitech), surface finishes, to transport across the country, as well as on the spot assembly (Qualitech).

A five metres high model was installed in proximity of the Olympic Oval located in Richmond, British Columbia. The two models of a two metres height were installed, for one, at the professional Qualitech School in Trois-Rivières, and for the other, near the skaters’ entry at the Anneau Gaétan Boucher, in Sainte-Foy, Québec City.
